Path
2017
- In November, Gianluca De Cobelli and Simone Ranucci Brandimarte founded YOLO with the support of a group of institutional investors.
2018
- YOLO launches the first digital sports insurance.
- The first digital bancassurance collaboration in Italy is defined.
- Agreements are defined with five distribution groups.
2019
- Round A financing was finalised with the entry of major lenders, including the Intesa San Paolo group.
- Distribution partnerships reach 35, with over 100,000 policies under management.
- Expansion abroad begins with entry into Spain.
2020
- During the pandemic year, investments continue in technology to enhance the platform and in marketing to support partners.
- Partnerships grew to 40 and YOLO managed the issuance of around 350,000 policies.
2021
- Generali Group enters the capital.
- YOLO wins Best Insurtech award at the Italy Insurance Awards.
- YOLO also wins the Italian Insurtech Awards for the best performance in attracting investments.
- YOLO manages the issuance of around 1 million policies.
2022
- YOLO is the first Italian insurtech operator to be listed in the EGM PRO segment.
- YOLO adopts the hybrid physical-digital distribution model, launching the Yolo Insurance Network platform and acquiring the majority of the broker Bartolozzi Assicurazioni.
2023
- Phygital distribution grows with the acquisition of a majority stake in AllianceInSay, a tech broker specialising in the digital distribution of mobility insurance products and services.
- YOLO changes payoff from On demand insurance to Tech Insurance.
- Membership of the Yolo Insurance Network grows to 450.
2024
- YOLO strengthens its capital with a EUR 7 million increase and welcomes new strategic investors.
- YOLO manages around 60 partnerships with banks, insurance companies and retail groups.
- The broker Bartolozzi Assicurazioni is incorporated into YOLO.
